SECM4 Processing Workshop
April 27–29, 2026, Florida State University

The 2026 SECM4 processing workshop will focus on single-particle cryo-EM data processing workflows as well as advanced approaches for tackling challenging datasets, including resolving structural heterogeneity, focused reconstruction, improving alignment of flexible regions, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to present and work directly with their own datasets.

Agenda

Day 1 - Single particle workflow

Participants will work through the standard single particle workflow using a provided dataset

Day 2 - Dealing with challenging samples

Participants will learn about using tools for handling challenges in 3D reconstruction such as flexibility and preferred orientations

Day 3 - Validating and Modeling

Participants will learn about metrics for validating structures and tools for making atomic models

Hotel

Accepted workshop applicants will have rooms reserved for them at a nearby hotel. The workshop will cover the cost of the hotel room for accepted applicants.

Travel and Meals

Participants are responsible for covering their own travel. Meals will not be provided but there are many nearby and affordable locations for meals. The Seminole Cafe is a very short walk from the venue and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a reasonable price.
